When I say, " street photography", I refer to the picture that doesn't be taken in events or studios. Is the photography of the real life, where the photographer, professional or amateur becomes part of what is happening or is witness of first hand of the facts, ending up many times to put in risk his life to make some takings. Many people ask me why I go with my camera on the back day and night. I believe that the exact answer would be: "because I am a photo- addict" . This has sometimes put in danger my life, as you can appreciate in the picture where is the title of this writing in that for go amid a shooting between policemen and kidnappers, the police confused my lens with a telescopic aim and began to shoot me. What I could make in those moments??, Nothing, only to take the pic that perhaps would be the last pic of my life. Is incredible but, at least in my case, I feel immune to the danger when I am behind my camera, thing excessively stupid, but that I find that it happens to many photographers. The good of this type of "Hobbie" is that one doesn't need to have a professional camera, you only need a decent film camera or a digital of 3 mp and better if it has a good optical zoom. Sometimes, in this type of picture, the photographer becomes part of the fact that is happening. For example one day I was walking toward the church with my wife and we saw a young guy drinking beer at 7:00 am in the border of a clff that is more than 70 meters high direct to a freeway . Immediately I suspected that he was a suicide and while I tried to speak with him I took out my camera and I had it ready for what happened. The guy told me that he planned to jump in that moment, but a cyclist that had noticed of the fact looked at me and it was as if we had connected ourselves mentally to save him. Then he put on a side where the suicide didn't see him and I put myself in view of the suicide and I said him, if you are so valiant, why instead of jumping, don't you fight with me?, the guy , that was totally drunk and perhaps drugged began to come toward me and the cyclist come closer from behind to him to grab him among both and to take him away from the cliff, but, in that precise moment the rescue squad of the police arrive and the guy make a half turn, looked to the hole and jump, all this in front of mine that with my camera in hand captured those moments that I put them here as a collage.
Well, definitively this topic have for a lot more and I will continue treating it in the successive days, because you know that in the street there are also deliquent, animals as birds, insects, etc. and wonderful things and people that I have photographed in its best moments. Young Man, Thank you for your alert, and simply suggest: A photoblog (or photolog) is a form of photo sharing and publishing in the format of a blog, but differentiated by the predominant use of and focus on photographs rather than text.
With the growth of the www and Blogs... and all the photo sites... it may be difficult for all your friends to contribute... but may you have every success!
Best wishes

hell'o, my friend!...thanks for the blog notice.....i have just moved and have new internet service, but bad weather makes it off more than on...
regarding street photography and risks:...i think street photography involving some kind of action is very exciting...i think timing has much to do with it,and of course always having a camera with you!....local TV news and newspapers are always looking for on the scene photos of interest...i still shoot film,so can't quickly send an instant photo file like those who shoot digital,so i mainly look for feature story shots on the street,or fine art mood shots to sell as prints...
We all have to be careful where we shoot these days because often times the police don't ask questions first!...
enjoy your new blog!

Hello my dear friend Intransit, thanks for your comment, I made this blog not only for Photos, I start with it, but I will write about different topics, like an opinion tribune, where you all can make opinions too, that's my Idea :D
Dear auntie, thanks for your comment!! I know your photographic work and is wonderful!!,but I did't know that you use film!!.
Regretably here is almost imposible to sell pics to tv, megazines or news. because here the press is very sensationalist and they only want blood , heads, body parts , etc. and I dont like to make this type of pics, and if I take some one (that I never made) I think first in the parents of the guy or woman that is dead, because I dont like that they look their sons in the news in that conditions.
So I make street photography only for hobbie, but some days ago, one friend that is a professional photographer said me to make an exposition of my street pics, I will see how I can make it :D
Shalom my crazy joe, hahahaha!!
nice to see you again!!
Im not in street photography I take all that are around me where ever I be. I took insects, birds, people, shootings, crazy people, children, women, etc, etc.
Thanks for your comment, I hope you came here when I post a new post :D

Hello my dear friend Quinton, that is a Sad reallity that happen in all the word.
Thanks for visit me and comment, God bless you :D
One of the best street shots I ever got was in Colombo, sri Lanka. Since the Buddists cannot kill anything, unwanted animals, such as non-productive cows, are turned loose to wander the streets. It was not uncommon in the middle of major traffic to see a cow wandering up the street, totally unconcerned. But the best shot I got was a cow, lying down, resting on the sidewalk and behind her were the big yellow arches of a MacDonalds.
mY DEAR FRIEND dORA, THANKS FOR YOUR WONDERFUL COMMENT, IF YOU WANT YOU CAN SEND ME YOUR PIC OF THE COW BY E MAIL AND i POST HERE WITH YOUR NAME SO OTHER MEMBERS CAN SEEIT, YOU ARE A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER MY FRIEND.
Hi Armando,
You are a brave, brave man. I don't have the backbone to take such a photo. I feel like I am intruding to take a photo of some guys picketing on strike. But I guess I would not make a good photojournalist. Great blog site idea my friend :) Bonnie

When whales and dolphins beach themselves it is usually pointless to return them to the sea. It is usually the sick and dying that do this.
I had 2 experience many years ago driving through newfoundland, and I was happy to have the camera handy. This was back in the good old days of film. In one, there was a forest fire and the highway passed through it. Traffic was still allowed but the fire was burning on either side of the road. Airplanes were water bombing ... magnificent shots ... although we had to keep moving so the number I could get was limited. Later, the same day, the news announced that a whole pod of whales had beached themselves. So we went to see this. It was horrible but I took pictures and we left. After that I was trying to finish off the film and realized that I was several frames beyond the number on the film. As it turned out the film had been loaded incorrectly and had not left frame one! Two other times I took pictures with a camera that had no film in it! Now I have 2 digital cameras - one with a 512 mb card and 1 with a 1 gig card that travel with me every where!
Armando my friend, thank you for sharing your bloggings. Street photography is exciting and dangerous at the same time esp. when guns are involved, then you wouldn't see me getting to close...lol But glad there are photographers out there with guts to capture the unique scenes of life we wouldn't see otherwise.
I try to have my camera with me at all times but there are just those times I should have it when I don't, for shame...lol
I enjoy reading your blogs, keep on writing. Hugs from Florida.
My dear and beauty Marilyn !!!

Hi Armando,
Thanks for the link to your blog! It's always good to see your photo's and 'hear' your take on life.
Speaking as a pastor, it's good to know of your faith in Christ and your love for His church.
I can't say that I enjoyed the photo of two men kissing, but it was good to see the other examples of your new-found interest in street photography.
May God bless you and your family, dear friend,
Chris
